Complianz is a WordPress privacy suite that automates cookie consent, policy generation, and overall GDPR compliance. It scans your site for cookies and other tracking scripts, then automatically generates a cookie banner and legal documents like a privacy statement and cookie policy. In practice, it’s my go-to tool for ensuring a client's WordPress or Shopify site meets legal requirements for data privacy across the EU, UK, US, and beyond.

Why It Matters for Marketing Operations

For any marketing operator, compliance isn't just a legal checkbox; it's a foundational element of trust and data integrity. A tool like Complianz matters because it de-risks your entire marketing stack. Improper consent management can invalidate the data flowing into Google Analytics 4, poison your remarketing audiences in Meta Ads, and ultimately lead to significant fines. How I Deploy It

For more complex setups, I often use n8n to create workflows that sync consent status with a central customer data platform like Segment, ensuring that a user's preferences are respected across all downstream systems.

When to Use It vs. Alternatives

Complianz is the ideal choice for small to mid-sized businesses running on WordPress or Shopify who need a robust, set-and-forget compliance solution. Its strength is its deep integration with the WordPress ecosystem. However, for large enterprises or companies with complex, multi-platform digital presences, a more powerful (and expensive) platform like OneTrust or Cookiebot might be a better fit. For simple blogs, a lighter-weight alternative like CookieYes can suffice, but I find Complianz offers the best balance of features and ease of use for most business websites.
