It provides a robust structure for server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG), which are critical for high performance and search engine optimization. In practice, I use it to build fast, scalable websites and web apps that need to rank on Google and convert visitors effectively.

Why It Matters for Marketing Operations

Site speed and SEO are not just technical metrics; they directly impact lead generation and revenue. A slow, poorly optimized website bleeds pipeline and burns ad spend. How I Deploy It

I deploy Next.js for nearly all public-facing marketing websites, hosting them on Vercel for best-in-class performance and continuous deployment linked directly to a GitHub repository. A typical stack involves connecting the frontend to a headless CMS for content management. For capturing user data and events, I integrate the site with Segment, which then feeds standardized data into downstream destinations like HubSpot for marketing automation and BigQuery for in-depth analysis. This creates a scalable and robust customer data infrastructure from the very first touchpoint.

When to Use It vs. Alternatives

Use Next.js when performance, SEO, and a superior developer experience are non-negotiable; it is my default choice for any serious marketing website or web application. For simpler, content-only sites like a basic brochure or a personal blog, a traditional CMS like WordPress can be quicker to stand up, but you will inevitably face performance, security, and scalability ceilings. If you are building a highly interactive, complex single-page application where SEO is a secondary concern (like a heavily authenticated internal tool), a client-side rendered framework built on plain React might seem sufficient, but the powerful data fetching and rendering patterns in Next.js often make it the superior choice even there.
